Case note | Winter 2026
What running our own store taught us about Shopify B2B.
Six things we only learned by having to explain a stockout to a real customer. Drawn from our own shop, and the most linkable thing on this site.
We run our own store, which means we have had to explain a stockout to a real customer at 9pm. That is a different teacher than a spec document.
Six lessons made the cut: net terms are a trust product, MOQs belong in the cart not the email, tiered pricing needs a fallback, reordering is the whole game, catalogue visibility rules are load-bearing, and a wholesale login should never feel like a downgrade from retail.
